I'm in Houston so no issues with cold weather here and I have no plans to go national lol. I'm going to assume the climate issue is why you think it would be a PITA to go out to maintain the litter. I'm not sure who would move the enclosure or why they would... but if smeone requested it be attached to the house, that wouldn't be much trouble. There shouldn't be any security issue. The window sash (part that is raised/lowered) uses locks to prevent it being raised by burglars. The plexiglass is bolted to the frame from the inside so it's at least as secure as the other windows in the house.
