She thinks they were stolen when she was in the library. She told me that two women had been talking to her, one actually touching her, and then they left and later returned right next to her again. She got her purse back, they took the cards and then went to her bank. She had two accounts at the same bank. Before she'd gone to the library she'd put in a cheque and the records say that 16 minutes later the couple who had taken the cards withdrew the money from the same cashier my aunt had given the cheque to! The cashier didn't ask them for any ID at all when they emptied two accounts, one with £1000 in it and the other with £800 . So if the bank is found negligent they will have to pay her back the money. If not, she'll be left with nothing grrr. At the moment she's going to wait to see what the bank says.
