Count me into the IBS team, I've been there for about 5 years now. I went through the whole diet and exercise thing, and in the end (gosh, another scatological pun) I found that it didn't make any difference.
The only thing that helped was slowing down my whole lifestyle, and resting my brain a bit. I'm almost sure that IBS is linked to anxiety more than anything.
At least you still have your sense of humour!
