I assumed, correctly, that you are a straight female. There was nothing in your post to indicate otherwise - just a young woman receiving friendly emails from a young man.

By the way, there's no need to send the guy's whole message for us to examine under the magnifying glass (as you say, if only he knew!). Couldn't you just quote a bit of one? Just in case he visits this site!
