It's really hard to keep your head straight & stop freaking out when this stuff happens, but... You DO have power over this voice. You are real & he is a byproduct of you. He can go away (eventually will, anyway) & you will still be standing once he is gone. You have the power in this situation, not him, & I cannot forsee a circumstance where you would ever kill your loved ones by simply being present. I know it's hard, but you have to see the illogicality of that statement. *hugs*
