Was meeting with my boss this morning and ask him what the status on getting me hired full time from temp was. I said my main concern was getting on health insurance so I could afford my meds. He asked what I took meds for. I said, "Depakote, its an anti-convulsant." He said, "Oh, you're having convulsions (he's an EMT)." I said, "No (he shoots me a confused look), I'm bi-polar." He got a shock look on his face and asked, "You're bi-polar?" I shook my head yes and he immediately got a grin on his face and chuckled, "Well that explains a lot," with a laugh. The exact reaction I was looking for!
OMG I felt so relieved, like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I explained how I had ran out of meds and had a really rough weekend. He said he would make it a priority on his to-do list to at least get me on the health insurance plan.
I'm so glad everything went the way it did. I feel so proud of myself. And I think the new found understand and confidence I had received from using this site had a lot to do with it. Thank you all.
