take a good look at your triggers. what feelings cause them. then you can learn how to overcome them.
the dealing with emotions forum here may help you too. here's a site that discusses ways you can help yourself-
Quote:
When one negative emotion creeps up, a series of them may actually ensue. Your stress level increases and your whole self can be impacted in unhealthy ways:- Physical - drained of energy, eat more junk food, slouch in chair
- Emotional - feel helpless, victimized, confused, angry, or depressed
- Mental - lack awareness, inefficient with projects, productivity decreases
- Spiritual - no connection to purpose, lost-soul complex
Because of this slippery slope of effects, it is imperative that you identify when something triggers you or someone "pushes your buttons" so that you can deal with it in the highest and best manner.
An important step is to check your emotional state often. How do you feel right now? Are you relatively in harmony with life? Is something lingering that's causing you tension?
Everyone has emotional triggers, and you can learn how to stabilize them:- Return to the here and now - Triggers are products of some past event. Remember that the situation is not happening now; it already occurred and you need to remain focused on the present...etc.
