That's very true gma45. If anyone is using a new teflon pan....they should wash it well and then heat for a few minutes on med heat with no food in it. Run the exhaust fan. The fumes would hurt small birds if they're in the area. If a person preheats the pan for a minute or so....there's no need to use the highest heat and they'll still get that sizzle when they put the meat in.
