Let's not lecture people here, any thread title will do, even a '...' thread title is better than keeping all those feelings inside. PS. You will note that I'm not underlining any of my views in red. You're right, Pegasus, it does sound like a lecture and it shouldn't. As far as the way some or most members feel, my knowledge is the same as yours, derived solely from reading thread titles and posts here on PC, as well as some PM's. As for people privileging certain specific kinds of knowledge (which they either assert or imply that they have), I see that (and perhaps many others wouldn't) in only a certain minority of posts, and it does seem out of place. If you don't see it, it's nothing to worry about.
And you're right, thread titles aren't a terribly important aspect of what goes on here on PC. They're quite a minor matter. I overemphasized their importance in my postings here and am sorry I did so. I was shouting when conversational tones would have been the only appropriate manner in which to refer to this issue. I do think that people should spend an extra ten seconds on the title when they're opening a thread, but it's by no means a big deal. As far as underlining in red, I do love to use the colors available here and would really enjoy reading other people's colorful posts.
Take care!
