People's memories always get distroted when we remember. That's not anything you do wrong or whatever, it's just the process of remembering is reconstructing the past from what we know of it. Traumatic memories generally stay pretty accurate, but I'm not sure if that goes only for repressed memories (you say you have always remembered stuff). But does it really matter whether memories are 100% accurate? For your healing it matters wha tyou remember and how to work on processing that.
