My memories have always been fragmented and hard to understand. When I first started remembering trauma they felt hallucinogenic. Now not so much. But if I take them all and try to piece the puzzle together there are still gaps and questions.

It doesn't matter to me anymore. I was able to confirm enough of it to know I have reason to have the problems I have. My main concern is having the best life I can NOW.

Most people don't remember accurately--that's why eyewitness testimony is not always totally reliable, and why five different witnesses to a crime will come up with five slightly different stories.

The main thing is to get a general picture the jist of which is probably true, then work on managing emotions and correcting cognitive distortions in the now.
