I have been going to AA for more than 5 years and have remained sober since going. I have had 2 sponsers. I was really beat up this time and close to dying from alcohol related heath issues. I went to 140 meetings in 90 days and went through the steps very quickly with my sponsers. I really wanted to get and stay sober this time. I was ready to do whatever it took to do this.
