I totally admire you for gardening! Do you have a flower or vegetable garden? What did you work on today?
Where we first lived in Kansas, the soil was hard clay. When I went to plant some azalea, I started out with a shovel, and wound up with a hatchet trying to break through the ground. I have to admit it took some of the wind out of my sails for gardening. In Florida, where we lived for thirteen years, there was sand right below the topsoil. Between the nice weather and easy digging, I think Florida made me soft.
