You are not my father.
"Room mate, could you please not use my glasses? I don't use your glasses because I don't want to break them."
"You don't want me to use your glasses because you're afraid I'll break them?"
"...Yes."
"Well, that's too darn bad."
I bought a set of glasses so that I would have a matching set to offer guests. I keep them stacked at the back of the cupboard. Normally I only drink out of the mugs that I keep at the front. However, I keep noticing that my glasses are disappearing, and that when he has guests, they are always using my glasses, when he has his own. Now apparently he keeps one of my glasses beside his bed at all times with water in it, and one in his bathroom to rinse his teeth! I don't think I'm over reacting, because he does break my stuff and take it without asking. This has been an ongoing thing for years.
This from the guy who has absolutely no respect for my belongings, personal space (he walks right into my room too), or apparently adulthood. I don't even know how much of my stuff he has lost or destroyed. I am so tired right now I don't want to deal with this. What am I supposed to do?
I'm not even as mad about the glasses right now as I am the fact that he is totally disrespecting me by saying "It's too darn bad" like I'm his child or something. I have no idea how to stand up for myself, it seems. All I have wanted to do for days is crawl into a dark hole and stay there. Right now I want to go to bed and I don't give a crap what else happens.
