Hello eskielover,
Yes, I've had EMDR for past-trauma and found it to be very helpful.
The process is a fairly quick way to get through it, it may feel uncomfortable at the time, but with a good therapist, he will get you through it as painlessly as possible.
The process kind-of fills in the gaps, so that you get a full story instead of bits and pieces, popping up and frightening you all the time.
It also pushes the 'memory' into the correct part of the brain, so that it does'nt keep getting replayed.
Hope this makes sense to you.
Hugs.
