Usually they perform an eeg on these people so they know which ones are in a truly vegetative state!! There are some like that and hopefuly they already made out a living will designating what they wanted in the event of this. We all need to have papers in order so our wishes can be followed. It should be our choice, but again no one will know unless its in writing. We should have at least six copies of paperwork so there is no confusion what we want. These can go to the Physician, husband/wife/children; lawyer;safe deposit box......etc
