Khaletha, your most accurate diagonsis will come from a psychologist rather than an MD or family doctor. It might be a good idea, though, to get a referal from your new MD. You'd be seen quicker, I would think.

I'd be more concerned to get a diagnosis for you and your children first and not worry about telling your mother if you think she wouldn't be understanding.
