Im in a bit of a similar position because I happen to live in a little suburban area in texas also that provides no form of public transportation or any other way of getting around other than paying an arm and a leg for gas every other day. While it sucks, I wouldnt give up so soon. It sounds like this really means something to you and ive learned that if you want something bad enough - you'll make it happen.

Obviously finding a job would be your first priority. You mentioned you graduated college so I assume you have some sort of degree. I realize these days it is not so easy to find a position specific to what you specialize in but sometimes what I will do is find a small immediate part time position doing domething menial just to tide me over.

Cashiering and waitressing and all isnt really lucrative or fun but every penny would help to contribute to your hobby. I think it would be worth it to find something temporary just to help you make it through. My first suggesstion would not be to give it up especially if the lack of money due to unemployment is your only real obstacle. The hour drive does sound kind of bleh but. It could be worse, I suppose. It all just boils down to how much you like it.

Why is it all the awesome stuff is never paid labor? Haha
Thanks for this!
