You can't imagine it and I really believe this. Maybe you just can't go there yet, which does happen to many people? You write that you didn't grow up with hugs, maybe this is what you didn't get and needed? You write that your mom was always there for you and that you were wanted and loved. I totally believe this but it is still possible that you still didn't get something that you needed and the topic of the hugs is one example. A parent can always be there for you physically but not be there totally for you emotionally.
