Actually, there are some cases where symptoms may appear within weeks of exposure, but they are very general flu-like symptoms. Either way, prompt and accurate testing is very important right now.

Despicable_me, you never did indicate what sort of symptoms you were having, and while we cannot, of course, diagnose you, it may be reassuring to know that if they are flu-like symptoms (aches, fever, etc) it could be anything. Try not to worry, but certainly be cautiously responsible if you do have sex with your wife in the meantime.
