Normal thoughts are something you are doing on purpose? I don't think we have that control. I think thoughts come in willy-nilly and where we go with them is all we control. If I tell you not to think about blue elephants; you instantly do (instead of pink, even! :-)
I haven't had a voice shouting; I did have a men's "group" sitting around "judging" me for a bit, commenting negatively. It's all something our unconscious creates, just like we do our dream scenarios. My T "got rid" of my group of men by telling me to tell them she didn't believe in them

She is a little woman and the idea of my saying to this group of men, "My T says to tell you she doesn't believe in you" and imagining how angry that could make them (but what can they do? they're just voices in my head) just amused heck out of me; that she, so small, could say that without being anxious or afraid/giving it a second thought. They "disappeared" and were never heard from again.
Maybe think of them as a "shout out"? You could start giving deliberate "shout outs" to good things?
