In short: Yes. They are a part of you, and you should live with them.

When I see my scars it's very easy for me to narrow my thinking into something negative, and hate myself for what I did and how permanent I made it. But then I realize that thinking that way and dwelling on those things does absolutely NOTHING for anyone, especially me.

Now I look at the scars as something of a testimate to all the things I've been through, and how far I have come since then. That doesn't necessarily mean no longer cutting, or being cured of anything, but just the fact that I'm still around and have accomplished so much. I had to go through what I went through to become what I am today...most people have memories, we have scars. Accepting them is the easiest and most beneficial way to continue with life.
