it is something i dont usually think of too, but its a really good idea for a number of reasons.

number one, it clears out all your stored passwords and logons, helping you to keep the information secret and private.

Number two, if you happen to get a trojan or virus in your temporary internet files, it should delete it for you and then you dont have to worry about it. Same goes with tracking cookies, or spyware, or just plain bad guys hehe.

It also can slow down your computer while browsing if your temp files are really full, not to mention take up a bunch of space as well.

For anyone who cares, basically what you are doing is "resetting" your browser to the state it was in when you first downloaded it as far as stored information goes. That means it wipes out any "memory" i guess you could call it of the websites youve been to, or how to interact with those websites.

What may have happened is that firefox "remembered" from a past day that the images were not working, or something, or were blocked, and then every time it opens it is again "remembering" and showing you that information.

Most browsers are pretty good about updating what is called the "cache" (your temporary files or the memory I was talking about) but sometimes it can get bugged up depending on the site or program or whatever you are acessing.

usually the above steps help lots. It works in IE too, just the steps are a little different.
