Sleep is more important than just the feeling....the body & mind actually heal when it's sleeping including from depression & anxiety. The healing that the body does while asleep from injuries & illnesses is amazing. I know that I don't sleep well, but when I fractured my back earlier this year after falling off a horse, I couldn't do much other than lay in bed & sleep....it helped with everything including the healing.
When I wasn't sleeping well, I would go into my Dr's office & my blood pressure was sky high.....he kept telling me to go do a GP & get meds to take care of it, but I was determined that I knew my blood pressure was normally low....I realized that I needed sleep & to get back on my omega-3....I did that for the next 2 months & sure enough, my blood pressure was back to completely normal.....just proved to me how important sleep is in our life.
