I have been caring for my 44 year old step-son since he was diagnosed with psychosis in 2003.His problems started around 2000 but it was around the time he was going through horrific pain from an arm injury so it was hard to know what was happening. He has gone through so many different stages of this disease - now they are calling it schizophrenia instead of psychosis but I think they are almost the same. He thinks he is being controlled by the satellite and that the people who are controlling him are punishing him for something he did.I have had him in hospitals and to many psychiatrists and most recently to a psychologist, just trying to find answers to how I can help him. Now he is saying he has overall body pain and acts like he is in very bad pain. I have had him checked out by the family doctor and everything seems o.k. except his blood pressure and cholesterol but since he has gained almost 60 pounds since the onset of this illness and also since he does not get any exercise at all, I am hoping it is just related to the weight and just sitting around. Has anyone else experience pain as a symptom of this? I am at wits end and just need to find someone to help.
