Thank you for your kindness and confidence. I wrote a long post a minute ago and lost it. Here goes. Our youngest daughter, 18 has been begging us to do this for years. We have been unable due to husband's deferred sentence and waiting for it to be purged. Long story but he got in trouble over school choice.
So daughter went to training with us and will continue. She wanted to:"design the nursery". This is funny because our children slept with us and we had non of the contraptions of today's baby. She wanted to get a changing table. I said no, we will use the dresser and I will put a lip and pad on it. She wanted to totaly paint the room but we said no way as we painted it a year ago. She is painting the trim. We are getting a crib from a friend but we need a mattress. She is worried about not knowing what size kid we will get and wanted diapers of all sizes.
Anyway, it is humerous at best. She will also pick the flooring. She is so motivated. She is doing the designs and posters, pictures.
We moved the big bed down to daughter's room, we will move her twin bed upstairs to "nursery". What we are hoping for is a baby who can be freed for adoption. We also wish to take special needs babies like with C.P., feeding tubes. I am comfortable with medical issues and care. We would like to be licensed for 3-4. The future will show us what the plan is. We have another room currently used as a studio.
So we have work to do, the inspector comes friday morning but classes for re-licensing don't end till May. I can't stop thinking of baby stuff. I dug out the special clothes we kept. Put them in the wash. Dug out some toys. Bought 3 sizes of diapers at dollar store today. I never really told anyone but we have not tried NOT to get pregnant for 4 years. We can't have more children. But we can adopt and foster.
I am so excited I can't stand it. We have some things coming from freecycle. I never kept the big stuff like blankets. Never used bottles, need formular and a bottle warmer which I have no clue how to use. Daughter is telling me about what bottles are best.
So, we are up for an education on many issues.
Thanks for all of the kind wishes. Lets hope kids are safe and loved in their homes. But when they can't be, let's hope they can come to us. Thanks.
