Hearing voices is something I experience...but very, very rarely. Something much more common I get is hearing laughter: despite there being no possible source or other sounds going on at the same time.

I first experienced it in hospital: I thought people were laughing at me, and at the time it was mixed with voices and extreme paranoid. I got so stressed that I self harmed and smashed up my personal belongings. It's like real laughter - a little distance. It definitely sounds as though it's coming from OUTSIDE of my head. But alone in my house I hear this - and it's a fully detached house.

I also hear it sometimes when out in public. Which, as you can imagine, is very stressful.

Anybody else get this?
