I second Sleeps' idea. Couch, sound, dim light.
I know a doctor would poo poo that kind of sleep regimen, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get a couple of nights of good sleep to get on top of feeling so low. I know I sleep better with a dim light and noise in the room. Not the TV usually because the light changes and the volume changes and you get distracted by the talking.
My best bet at falling asleep when I don't want to is to try and stay up for a late TV show that I REALLY want to see. Never fails, I fall asleep before it comes on.
