Thank you Pegasus & vanna,

For giving me some insight as to how well it works. It does sound like it would be benificial & I will look into the book "Waking the Tiger". I would like to know a little more about it. I have found that talk therapy seems to make things worse & when I was in the group sessions 3 days a week, alot of things came out but were scattered all over my mind which seemed to mess me up even worse than I am.

Now that I am away from that outpatient treatment, things are settling into my background, & coming out when I am back in my Mothers home, or when triggers end up hitting continually. I think I will ask my Pdoc if he can locate someone that specializes in EMDR......I would think he should have better contacts for finding someone than I do....especially when I can only locate them over 2 hours away from home. The psychologist I went to for a few months while my other psychologist was having back surgery, only dabbled in it......& she didn't even suggest the use of it. I don't think I would want someone who wasn't very experienced with it to do it.

It has been hard even getting my pdoc & psychologist to recognize that the trauma I went through really caused PTSD. They were with me when I was going through the trauma & couldn't even help me deal with it while going through it. They thought it was so much easier to identify the problem as anorexia rather than the fact that the trauma was the cause of the weight loss. I know that Post is after the fact, so as I ended up with the symptoms, they ended up realizing how it effected me & treatment that works has been a nightmare & very unsuccessful.

I appreciate the information.....
Debbie
