You are right. He should not be treating you like that. It is your right to choose your doctors - they work for you. His attitude reminds me of when they used to lock people up in a psych ward because they overreacted to something one day, and put them on meds that had side effects, and never let them out saying that the symptoms (which were the side effects) were still continuing. Yes, it is a good thing that you are recognizing what is going on, what you don't like, and you know what you want to do about it.
