I go to see my pdoc minimum every 3-4 months whether I think I need to or not to make sure I stay on track and sometimes sooner. Also on the other side is that I have been known to fool myself into thinking I am ok and I have not been so it is just safer that I go in on this schedule at a minimum. I can go in sooner if need to and is a phone call away if there are any issues. Fills prescriptions when I go in, or the pharmacy calls it in when I run out between sessions.

I had another pdoc, that there was a fee to call in scripts between sessions. Then I learned, if the pharmacy called it in when I ran out, there was no fee. Perhaps this is the same with your office. Another pdoc did the same thing for $15 fee but would only write scripts for 60 days with no refills, and the pharmacy could not call it in; I switched docs.
