They'll let you talk it all out, and usually I'll just stay on the phone to them until the thoughts have passed. I'm not sure, but for me I think talking about it can exorcise it a bit, and stop it being the elephant in the room in my head.
I hope your T appointment goes well and you get the help there you need.
