Dublin every pet will have a special place in your heart and therefore their memory can never be betrayed no matter how many other pets you have. I think they would want you to be happy and knowing what a great mum you are, I'm sure they'd want other animals to benefit from your care. The pain will subside gradually and I certainly hope the new puppy helps you feel better. Your post broke my heart. I really feel for you.
Losing a loved one is never easy. Having a pet euthenized is a courageous, selfless thing to do.
