I will say that if this were a sales clerk or something, then perhaps letting it slide might be the best thing, but these are people that you are going to have a sustained and continuing interaction with. It merits consideration by all parties involved.

Have you mentioned anything to the receptionists about their behavior? That clearly is not your place at all, but sometimes just adopting a very understanding and kind approach to a problem can turn it around pretty quickly. Maybe they hate their jobs and are just looking to quit!
