I have a ton of healthcare field experience, I'm great at it & I love it; I'm also always willing to learn new things. I have not been able to find steady work since march when I quit my job for my clinicals which I was told I'd be getting a job at that hospital after boards...which fell through, I'm not above working hard & long hours to support my home. This is what I don't get, aptitude tests. I applied at a drug store as a pharmacy tech in which they require an aptitude test. I got a call from the manager and I quote "you're resume is phenomenal, you seem like the perfect candidate, however you scored too high on you're aptitude test and are there fore over qualified." I've never worked in a pharmacy or for one, yet having medical terminology is reason for over qualification in medical related jobs?? This makes NO sense and it's starting to feel like the old law of being able to train trainable candidates that are actually motivated is long gone. I should have tried harder to score low lol!
