I'm so terribly sorry this happened to you. It's hard enough to be having money troubles, without having such a stressful phone call with a bill collector. ((((Sleeps)))))) I hope you can write the company a letter and report the rude behavior of the collector - they don't need to behave in this fashion to perform their work. It's completely unprofessional. And wrong. I also like the idea of stopping the check, so you won't incur a bad-check charge, since the funds aren't there.
I'm just so sorry this happened....I send my caring thoughts your way, and I'm thinking of you. I hope your pets are giving you lots of TLC, and know that I'm sending you my good thoughts too! I wish there were more I could do.
