Get to see my pdoc again Monday!!
If you read the posts leading up to my last appt., you can remember that I finally decided to be honest and up-front with my doc and tell him everything that had been going on.
Previous appts were Q: How are you doing? A: Fine
Q: Any moods swings A: No
Q: Getting plenty of sleep A: Yep
Q: Still doing good with laying off alcohol A: Yea, drinking even less
Doc: Ok, sounds great. Hears your rx's. See you in 3 months.
LIES!! ALL LIES!! HAHAHAHAHAH!!
So my last appt. I made a list of everything that had gone on before and after our previous meeting.
My little brother was so concerned and wanted to make sure I told the truth that he came along to the appt. This was the beginning of October.
Went in and dropped the bomb on the pdoc. I've never seen a medical professional's eyes so wide in disbelief of some of the things I told him. Some of the things I had experienced he couldn't even find an explaination for.
His reaction: "I thought we were doing so well and now its seems to be all falling apart"
Thought in my head: "Buddy, it was never together to begin with"
Then the real fun started. I got into some real heavy stuff and I saw my brother move out of the corner of my eye. I looked at him and he let out this horrific wail like nothing I have ever heard. For a split second I thought he was having a nervous breakdown. But when I saw his eyes roll back in his head and his elbows and knees suck up to his chest, I knew what had happened: Epileptic Seizure.
Suddenly the focus went from me to him as the doc and I kept his airway clear and lowered him to the floor, with me wiping the blood from his mouth from where he bit his tongue. He recovered fairly quickly, just in time for the doc to wrap things up with me only half-way through my list.
Doc's recommendations for me:
1.) Get a local doc (I travel 4 hours to see him since I used them through college) and if I cant get in within the month come back to him
2.) Cut alcohol completely out of my life.
So by this post you can see that I followed up on step #1.
By almost all other post you can tell I completely dismissed #2.
Wish me luck!!
