The students in my classes, and even the last school I attended, have been as young as 14 and there is an 80 year old in one of my classes now, so all ages. I am studying medical labortaory technology with a bachelor's degree (4 year degree) in biology at a university. I took the job interest surveys/inventories but knew I wanted something in the medical field due to the job market, and the inventories helped to narrow it down to what fields I was best suited. I had remembered how interesting the things were that went on in the lab when I worked in hospital previously as an trainer/educator, and there was minimal patient contact, which as emotional as I get, this was important to minimize. I began to research it, job shadowed, then started back part-time at a community college to get my "feet wet" so to speak, and also to make sure I really was interested before fully committing. I was recently accepted into the program at the university and transferred. Depite how hard it is, I am loving it.
