I wish someone in my family would get a deer... And give me some! I love venison and my husband won't eat most farm-raised meats (ethics), but he says it's OK and even responsible to eat wild game that are not being properly controlled by predators. But we don't hunt, so we rely on my hunting family members to give us a little gamey love once in awhile.

My mom was the only one of her siblings that didn't take a deer. Until I was like 7, and we got one with our '89 Caprice Estate Classic - totaled the car, coulda killed me and my folks if the deer jumped a second sooner. But my folks hauled that deer up on top of the damaged car and we took it right home, and while my dad was freaking out about what to do with a deer, my mom strung it up in the garage and gutted it! It was hilarious.
