This Friday I have a SSD appointment for psychiatric evaluation and I am so n ervous I hate talking to people and I don't know what to expect. If I tell the truth they will want to lock me up for being crazy, because if you don't believe what your told you are crazy. I mean can I really tell them what I think when they are practically working for the government?
Hi Zcoder:

I agree with you that the U.S. is currently being run for the benefit of the ultra rich and multinational corporations. I think the Occupy Wall Street protestors are highlighting this right now. I listened to a Charlie Rose interview with economist Jeffrey Sach a few days ago. He's written a book called The Price of Civilization about how we got into this current mess and his recommendations for getting out.

Personally I doubt that aliens are involved. These problems were caused by ordinary human being, driven by greed and holding too much power. Human beings caused this situation, and human beings can solve it.

You mention that you're in pain and unemployed. When the whole world seems to be going to hell in a handbasket and on top of that your own little world is full of pain and problems, it's very easy to start imagining things. I suspect that's what's happening here to you.

You say you're going to have a psych eval by Social Security? So I assume you've told your theory to other people - in "real life"? Did you apply for disability based on your injured back or your odd beliefs? To get social security you have to be unable to work. Having odd beliefs alone doesn't prevent you from holding a job. The back problem may prevent you from working, but that's often harder to prove. And many people with bad backs do find some kind of work that doesn't require straining the back.

You say you're worried about being hospitalized if you talk to the evaluator about your thoughts. In most states the law says you can't be involuntarily hospitalized unless you're a danger to yourself or others. Some states add something for people who are acting in such a act that they're in imminent danger because they're so disorganized they can't care for themselves. So in theory you can't be forced into the hospital without one of those.
