Hi skyscraper

Sorry that you're clinically depressed and your mom is resistant to medical treatment.

It sounds like your mom could use a little bit of education on the diagnosis. Your psychiatrist is trying to get her to see the light, but she hasn't seen it yet. There are DVD's made to educate families about the science of clinical depression. Hopefully, your mom will watch a couple and see that it really is medical and your brain needs meds to allow good neurotransmitters to connect which lets you enjoy some positive emotions again.

I've been dealing with clinical depression for years. Mine is treatment-resistant, due to high tolerance to medications and low self-esteem. I'm working on these issues ~ with the help of medications (making my depression more "liveable") and therapies. It takes time, determination, perseverance, and forcing myself to keep going (during major lows).

Yeah, I know what you're experiencing. I wish that you could get your mom to see the light about getting some treatment! There are lots of resources available in getting people to understand depression better, but I couldn't find the links to refer you to. Sorry. Hopefully, someone more experienced in that area will post links for you to refer to.

Very best wishes to you, and to PC!
