You may be seeing him worse than he really is (Cognitive Distortion).

However, it does sound like he is not the T for you.

If I were a T, I would keep all religious images out of my office. In fact, no pictures of people at all.

I might put up a picture from time to time. And if a patient got uncomfortable, I'd say, "There's something about this picture that bothers you? It's just an experiment. Tell you what: you tell me why you don't like it, and I'll take it down."
