I agree with this. Almost every one of my friends know I have bipolar disorder and none of them have really been judgmental towards me. Maybe it is because I don't have a severe version of this disorder??? But it doesn't stop me from living and enjoying life because I know i have as much right as anyone else. For most people, bipolar disorder doesn't mean you life is coming to an end. (Maybe I am too young and disillusioned, don't know anything about the real world..)

When you spend too much time internalizing the disorder, then it is easier to live out the 'stereotype'.
