yes kittykat, sometimes it does take some time to find the right med or the right combination of meds taht will work well for you. everyone responds differently to the meds. the good thing is there are a lot of options available now.
it is frustrating waiting for relief wehn you are suffering so much. take comfort in the fact that just becuase this med hasn't helped you are far, far, from exhausting your options. the docs will find something that will work well for you. be sure to talk to the doc and tell him/her all the details of how you are feeling so they can take that into account when adjusting meds. what you tell them is the only thing they have to go by. make notes of thoughts and questions for the doctor if you tend to get nervous or forget things when you visit. Also tell your therapist because he may have contact with the doctor and can also provide input.
hold on kittycat, there is plenty of hope for relief ahead. you just have to stick in there and keep trying. take advantage of all your resources: talk to family or friends, ask the therapist for coping skills to help you get by while you are waiting for help from the meds, and keep posting and reading here as much as you want to and need to for some understanding and support.
good luck, hang in.
