Overcoming is gradual. It kind-of sneaks up on you when you aren't looking, but you do have to be doing your part. Even though you think it won't work, and you feel like the pain will go on forever, somehow it starts fading away and you don't even notice. It helps to find something to do to distract yourself - get involved in something.
While I wouldn't say that everything is perfect, feeling as bad as I did a year ago, or three months ago, seems unreal to me now.
