some times "pretending to sleep" can really help, the body needs it rest, but the racing thoughts get in the way,, so what i used to do when i had that problem, was to "daydream",, i would build houses, or design gardens, and focus as hard as i could on just that, nothing else, and then i would wake up~! it is a little bit like hypnosis, done to yourself, with no goal... hope it helps, if you try it,, best wishes, Gus
