I think I started taking Vyvanse for Adult ADD approximately two months before finding out I had to have thyroid cancer surgery (on September 23) so I stopped taking it until I got my doctor's O.K. to begin again. Today was the monumental occasion I've waited for so long - tomorrow I plan to start over with Vyvanse.

I can't remember but is anyone else here taking Vyvanse now or have you taken it in the past? It was like a miracle drug for me for the brief period of time I took it.

One thing I have truly discovered while working my way through every imaginable symptom with thyroid disease is that NO drug is going to work well if someone's thyroid is out of whack, be it an antidepressant or anything else. I know how Vyvanse affected me before surgery, now I'm anxious to see how it'll be with a biochemically normal thyroid.

I'll also admit that a lot of the mental health issues I've had for years have improved dramatically since surgery. I used to think the main thing regulated by one's thyroid was metabolism but I don't know but what more mental/emotional issues are effected by thyroid function than physical problems. I always thought "brain fog" was a joke - it most definitely is not!
