I think we can cut everyone on PC & online self-help communities like it a break. After all, we are all here as volunteers, helping each other in our search for healing & recovery.

This discussion started with joannasouras' concern with worldwide suffering & her feeling overwhelmed by it. We've mentioned a number of ways of dealing. I don't think this is something we can prescribe for others because it is so personal, sort of like telling someone whom to date.

My way is a very small one. I try to do something only about what's right in front of me. My grouchy neighbor no one can stand? I speak to her. The man at work who causes everyone problems? I take him on.

I know I can't save the world. If I can take the pressure off a stressed-out mom in line at the grocery by occupying her kids, I've made my tiny corner a little more peaceful for a while. I'll take that as a win.
