I thought of other stuff I didn't have time to say, LOL.
Arizona & Hawaii don't observe it at all! And I think parts of Indiana.
Anyway, I find winter depressing enough with the shorter days or the sun setting earlier. It doesn't help to set the clocks back, since the sun will set even "earlier".
I liked it when for decades we didn't have to set the clocks ahead till April. Now we have to do it 3 weeks earlier! It doesn't save energy necessarily. It depends on what time one gets up or leaves (it's darker in the morning when we set the clocks ahead, lighter in the evening), how much daylight one gets in their house/apt in the first place, and what time one gets home. It even depends on if someone works at home.
I think this is an outdated practice and I wish we would stop!
I've noticed we spend more time on DST than ST.
I can't be much help since I have trouble too, but one example I can give you is dinnertime. When we had to set the clocks back, I was STARVING even though the stupid clock said I had one more hour to go before dinnertime. Blasted! I had to eat. Then, each day after that, I waited 15 minutes later to eat, until after a few days I was eating at the "right" time. My stomach was still on DST, so it took some time to get used to the "later" dinnertime.
I do the same thing with sleep, but it doesn't work as well. This is where I have the most trouble. For DST, I'm going to bed too early and can't sleep. For ST, I get tired way too early since I'm ready for bed, but the clock says I have another hour before bedtime.
I'm not good with change in general, and changing the clocks is another change I have to adapt to twice a year! The days naturally get longer when spring approaches, and get shorter when winter approaches. There's no need to mess with the clocks!!

Thanks for this thread,
Payne!

Glad I could blow off some steam!
