I am sorry but i think Freud was talking not only about the mind.
It is true that today there are theories that move away from Freud`s original conception. The cognitive theory relies on the mind's capacity for processing information...

The conflict between the forbidden and the desired....and the actions come from the subconscious need to release this tension. It has to do with feelings...with the physical. NONE conscious.

Processing information is a conscious action.
